A new year. How is that even possible? We, for one, are absolutely thrilled to be in 2022 and buzzing away behind the scenes to prep for our second season at the Front Porch.
What's in store for 2022?
(Glad you asked)
We are expanding exponentially and spent the fall and even last week (and will continue in the spring) creating more flower beds! Bulbs are in the ground. Poppies have sprouted (eeeee!) and the snow and leaves (the we don't rake) are doing their job insulating the precious life growing below! In the next few weeks, we will begin planting indoors - most will go to the new beds, but a few will be available for you! In the shop section now, you can pre-order herb trays and cut flower trays. These trays will be available once it is safe to plant them outside (end of April/beginning of May). We also have our own heirloom seeds available for purchase - cosmos and zinnias! Next year, we will be expanding to poppies as well!
+Learning and growing! This year, we really want to share our knowledge and passion for these wonderful plants and the pollinators who love them! We will be doing our best to blog about topics that will benefit you! Last week, we asked in our IG stories about topics of interest, and we so appreciate everyone's feedback. There was a great interest in talking about bugs and native plants and their pollinators. So expect to read about that. Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss your topic. ;)
+New things! This year, we already have 4 weddings on the books! How exciting. Kendra has been in the wedding industry for 10 years and so this is not a new area for her, but we are so excited for this new adventure and to bring some local beauty to our local weddings and events. Of course, we will still be selling market bouquets too and seasonal bouquet subscriptions are now available for pre-order as well. Pre-ordering helps us better prepare and prep for the season in the early spring, so don't wait too long! We also have gift cards available now, so you can give the give of local flowers!
+Bees! We have been researching and will be getting bees in the spring! I literally cannot wait.
+Tours and education. With all of this, we really want to be able to have a place to share with the community. Local flowers, local issues, local passion. We want you to come and visit the gardens and chat with us! We want more people to understand the importance of local and native flowers and plants and learn how they can contribute in their own yards. Please contact us if you want to chat or schedule a tour in the spring!
Thanks so much to all of you for your love and support. It means so much to us!
XO Kendra + Courtney
